Thoughts on Fenwick & West and Cooley ECEB groups?
Anyone find it weird how big of a chip NOT coming from privilege is to some lawyers? Seems like these people think any conversation about debt and privilege is an affront to their existence as if we were even talking about them or their qualifications. Like b, what do you want from me? Life isn't fair, I didn't determine your life. Why you bitter at me for, if this job ain't making you happy then just leave, no need to be insecure about it and say it's a money thing or whatever
Partner scheduled a call this morning and during the call referred to today as a "holiday" with air quotes 🙃
A summer associate at my firm just told me that they can’t assist with a light duty 30 min research request by COB because they have a lunch scheduled. 😭
What’s the most number of times you or someone you know has gotten laid off from a firm?
Is anyone dealing with summer associates whose entire work product seems to be AI generated? (And the work product is not good.) What are your firm’s policies on summer associates’ AI use (already assuming if they allow it, it’s firm-approved legal AI)?
Anywhere but Fenwick. They're an outlier in so many market practices (and not in a good way)
would pick Cooley between the 2; guess it also depends on ur current situation
Which firm are you currently at? That will impact whether it makes sense to leap to a tech firm like Cooley/fenwick. If your looking for less hours, your prob not going to get that fwiw
Cooley's comp/ben group gets treated like shit by M&A and ECVC groups; they just get work dumped on them last minute with terrible deal management. You'll be busy and get good reps, but you'll hate your life.
Isn't that every comp/benefits group?
