About the role The Team Leader, Digital and Marketing is a people leadership position in MBIE. The team delivers high-quality digital content, tools and services including management of the Tenancy Services website and digital channels (eg social media and e-news publications). The team also manages the design and implementation of nationwide public information marketing campaigns, working alongside creative agency partners. The position holder will bring their marketing, communications and digital technical ability as well as their business understanding and perspective, to work in partnership with other managers, staff, and stakeholders. The role requires strategic thinking and technical savvy regarding complex housing and tenancy issues as well as highly developed project management skills to ensure the team delivers projects successfully.
Skills and experience required:
A proven track record and achievement in managing a team of specialists that provides strategic and tactical support across an organisation.
Experience in creating a team environment where people can grow and develop.
Wide ranging knowledge of digital channels and marketing communications best practice.
Desirable to have creative agency experience or working client side with a creative agency
A strategic thinker who is able to make the connections between various aspects of the organisation, with a proven track record in developing and implementing digital and marketing communications strategies and plans.
Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships.
A strategic thinker who is able to make the connections between various aspects of the organisation and implications for their team.
Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with senior managers and to provide them with wise counsel and strategic advice.
Sound appreciation of corporate management disciplines and techniques.
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an environment focused on continuous improvement to enhance organisational performance.
Able to demonstrate innovative qualities in the use of new digital and marketing tools
Government experience is desirable
Qualifications A tertiary qualification, preferably in communications, marketing or web, or extensive and comparable relevant experience in managing a team in a complex environment. Project management and stakeholder accreditation (eg, PRINCE2, IAP2) is desirable.
