An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced health and safety professional to play an influential role in the Levin Plant's health and safety improvement program through providing expert advice, guidance and support. Leading and embedding continuous improvement in health & safety performance on this large manufacturing site is a key objective. As an important member of the Plant's management team, you will assist the Plant Manager in developing a performance focused culture. You will also work with the Group Manager Health and Safety to deliver the company-wide health & safety strategy.
Specific responsibilities for this role include ensuring that company health & safety strategies and systems are fully communicated and implemented throughout the Plant, and to drive best practice and continuous improvement in health and safety. Providing expert health & safety advice and coaching to the Plant management team and Supervisors is crucial. Other responsibilities include health and safety planning and management, accident investigation and reporting, risk management, injury management as well as occupational health management with the on-site medical centre.
Successful candidates for this role will possess: Advanced interpersonal and communication skills together with the ability to build trust and work across all levels of the Plant Substantial "hands on" health and safety leadership experience within a manufacturing or food processing environment Proven ability to lead improvement initiatives in health & safety performance Comprehensive legislative and technical health and safety knowledge A relevant qualification in health & safety
