Health & Safety Advisor - Part Time

GPC Asia Pacific (New Zealand) is part of the world's leading automotive parts supplier and includes our iconic brand, Repco. We are a diverse business with 5 brands across New Zealand and over 1300 employees. Our Make it Safe, Make it Home safety message is entrenched in our business and we're now looking for someone to oversee the day to day safety and wellbeing for our workforce.
In this newly created role, reporting to the General Manager of HR with a dotted line to the Group Health & Safety Manager (based in Melbourne), you'll l be responsible for:
Ensuring legislative compliance across our business
Managing our core H&S admin processes including incident reporting, PPE, fire evacuations, dangerous goods and certifications,
Managing our H&S Champs program
Rolling our Trans-Tasman safety and wellbeing programs
Escalating H&S issues to the Group Health & Safe Manager
Implementing best practice and training managers on H&S fundamentals
To be considered for this role, we're looking for someone special. Our culture is a "Keep it Real" place to be, where you will be dealing with retail staff, ex- mechanics to accountants and marketers. Our must haves include:
Strong customer-centricity mindset.
Ability to connect with managers and staff and engage them in creating a safe workplace
An understanding of and ability to apply current workplace health and safety legislation, standards, guidelines and risk management principles.
The ability to flex with the business and support our people to continually be better
A self-starter with great time management and the ability to implement and manage national programs
Super administration skills as some of our systems are a 'work in progress'
This role is based in Mt Wellington, with occasional travel within NZ. We pride ourselves on flexibility and would consider candidates looking for between 20 and 30 hours per week.
