Working with an organisation that is at the forefront of delivering complex infrastructure projects across the Waikato region, this role is responsible for the Health and Safety,aspects of a team of technical and non-technical personnel.
This role will provide a significant health and safety leadership role within the business. Ideally the successful candidate will have relevant experience in a Safety, Quality or Training role (10 years plus), ideally in the infrastructure construction sector.
You will have responsibility for the development of policies, processes and systems to support the effective management of health and safety, and ensure all managers have available to them appropriate and effective systems, advice, processes, training and coaching to ensure their health and safety obligations are fulfilled

You will have demonstrated the ability to develop and implement strategies that
support a culture where health and safety is everyone's responsibility, and where everyone takes accountability for the part they play in creating a workplace that is free from harm
You will have in-depth understanding of NZ Health and Safety legislation, the
ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organisation and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Knowledge and exposure with training and developing employees
Superior written, personal and interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of New Zealand workplace legislation.
Hazard and Risk Management experience .
Substantial Health & Safety and Quality management experience in a cross functional environment
A high level of self motivation
