Pros

Only filling this part in because Glassdoor requires it

Cons

This company lacks all forms of integrity and professionalism. I have never worked in such a caustic environment and one that is truly reminiscent of how the social structure was in high school. Toxic employees with zero business acumen, who produce no actual value, and encumber progress are rewarded with lavish salaries and bonuses. You may see accolades from local Boston sources such as Bostino. Don't be fooled, management uses unreported bonus like distributions to employees in an effort to amplify the company's votes/ratings on these platforms. Don't bother wasting any time working hard here as it will go unnoticed and unrewarded. You will, however, get the opportunity to interact with 20 somethings that have never actually been self sufficient functioning adults. The company boasts its benefits package which includes a never ending party atmosphere. Yet, the company is tanking and management is playing questionable political games to keep it afloat, up to and including, concerning and questionable ethics to do so. Speaking of management, you'll get little to no support from your current supervisor, all of the way up to the executive level. The "people strategy" department (HR) is notorious for instigating and actively contributing to the overall drama and immaturity this company seems to thrive on. Do not consider them a reliable resource for information or for support. If you're a professional and respectable adult, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

We are sorry to hear your negative feedback on your experience with us. We regularly solicit employee feedback to impact positive change so it's unfortunate you didn't feel that support. We always want to provide a fun and supportive environment and believe that many others at dataxu have had positive experiences as evidenced in our back-to-back wins as a company of choice, our 2019 engagement survey launched to our global employees where we received very positive feedback and our survey was completed by 94.5% of our population, and 25% of our hires are employee referrals. We hope that you have since found happiness with your new employer.

Thank you for your feedback. It’s really disheartening to hear your feelings on management decisions and burnout. As an executive, I can say unequivocally, upper management is driven by a desire to provide the best experience possible for our customers, which includes a stable, reliable platform that is constantly being improved with unique DataXu innovations. We don’t view either as all or nothing and strive to balance what you see as competing desires. DataXu experiences average voluntary attrition for our industry, and we are always looking for ways to attract and keep our best talent here at DataXu; in fact, we promoted more than 12% of our global workforce in 2015 alone. We’ve also launched a totally revamped manager training experience in 2015 that continues to evolve today, and have experienced excellent feedback and results. I hope this has addressed some of your concerns

Cons

Weak & disorganized upper management team A lot of playing favorites across US Cheap on many fronts: Flights, Hotel, Cell phone, commissions, parking, meals, ETC! Product not as solid as the sign on the Kool-aid bowl in Boston

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. I’m glad you held our new initiatives and benefits here in such high regard and found the pay competitive. Your comments about our management, expense policy and products are disheartening to hear, and I’m sorry you had a negative experience in a regional office. It can be difficult to maintain the culture of any organization that is global, and with 15 offices outside the Boston headquarters, we know we can do better. As for management: we offer every manager at DataXu the opportunity to participate in our manager training series where we provide them with tools they can use to help them empower and engage their employees. We’ve also recently implemented a new system that promotes a culture of more regular feedback, with the goal of making the relationship between the manager and their employees more transparent and valuable. I’d love to hear any ideas from you on how to improve the experience in remote offices if you’d be willing to share; please send me a note at lmcauliffe@dataxu.com.
