RecommendsPositive OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at University of Canterbury for less than a year
Pros
- Very flexible work environment - Amazing management - Access to everything you could need (on-campus facilities) - No matter your seniority, your opinion is valued
Cons
- Projects can get a little stale - Since you're dealing with professors, their communication can be sketchy at times

Pros
The facilities are very good and the staff and students make it a good work environment. The university is a strong university on the global scale.
Cons
The university is in recovery from the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes, and so the student numbers are down and there is little funding to support new initiatives. It will take several more years before the university is back to the same number of students and level of funding from pre-2011.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI have been working at University of Canterbury full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Beautiful campus, lovely people, nice climate, relaxed work environment, opportunities for professional contacts with colleagues.
Cons
Managerialism and earthquakes have reduced most support staff to grim determination to survive the next round of cuts. Loss of professional support devalues staff skills and knowledge. Saving money is ruining the place.
