I worked at The University of North Carolina System full-time for more than a year
Pros
Educational environment, low-cost or no-cost classes, diverse population,
Cons
Minimal to zero consequences about the brazen human resources nightmares, parking is expensive for employees and students, Directors, and management just waiting it out to retire or the next opportunity.
"Good culture, bit disorganized"
I have been working at The University of North Carolina System part-time
Pros
people are very welcoming and warm
Cons
lots of email spam, leadership hierarchy not clear
- COVID-19
Pros
It's UNCC, great people, great university, great workplace
Cons
Covid-19 has slowed a lot of things down, but UNCC will bounce back
Pros

Cons
Often keep you on contracts to stop you getting benefits.

RecommendsI worked at The University of North Carolina System full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Often work on a team that is truly collaborative and supportive. Some positions have a little bit of room for experimentation and innovations. Working in a University environment provides the chance to work with creative and interesting staff and students.
Cons
There is a bureaucracy for *everything* and it slows down a lot of work. Salaries aren't competitive with what you could get in the private sector (but there are other advantages that offset the pay issue). Benefits are State of NC benefits and aren't great. Though the State Pension System is one of the better run ones in the country.
Pros
Resources and facilities are great Health insurance is great
Cons
Culture and work-life balance are challenging
