Started well, cracks emerged, now bureaucratic, political and out of touch

Pros

Great office locations; Many talented and well-intentioned employees

Cons

Frenzied growth and hiring has started to create a culture of distrust and favouritism. New personnel and offices - particularly from outside of Canada - are the latest shiny objects of the C Suite while those that have worked tirelessly to the point of exhaustion and burnout are dismissed. Worse yet, the layers of bureaucracy and inefficiency have made QuadReal very top-heavy. Lots of senior people barking orders and throwing out unrealistic timetables and expectations all the while covering for their own technical incompetencies and management dysfunction.

Pros

Honestly I can't find any Pros why to work for this company.

Cons

I don't recommend working for this company. The culture and values of this company are not acceptable. They are discriminating applicants for apartments from Middle East and India. It happened few times that they have been told we are full even we still had some apartments available! Communication with the tenants is on very low level, often with very unpleasant tone. This is not how a good customer service should look like. Much space to improve!

Pros

Start up company with extensive capital. Exciting growth projections

Cons

QuadReal has grown far too fast which has created a number of polical silos. HR needs some serious attention and experience , currently have a number of people with 0 experience in the property management world, Bonus’s are rated on a scorecard program, very rare to surpass a “B” rating. Funny thing is QuadReal claims to be “A” employer but treats their employee performance as “B” at best., never exceeding “A+”

Please note that all Employee scorecard ratings are based on individual performance and not rated in a bell curve or averaged across teams. As such, individual ratings will range from A (there are no A+) to C based on how they performed based on their scorecard. We are actively working on improving our Onboarding process and expect a launch of the new content later this year.
