Pros

some really good people with great experience. Good mix of types of skills. Good energy from ceo

Cons

Too many freeloaders. Some staff have little or no relavant experience and they are calling the shots which means failure. No process or real project managers.

Badly run and bizarre

Pros

A lot of autonomy Good work/life balance Plenty of parking in Bristol I've run out.

Cons

Disparate group of businesses with little commonality or alignment but a shared group management structure. Below average pay, urgent need for more investment although previous business performance, debt, and dwindling technical capability may make this very difficult. In the short term they are savagely cutting at opex rather than addressing root causes to try and reach break even point. CEO comes across well in person but is over burdened by the shortcomings of the rest of the exec, many of whom are utterly incompetent and/or invisible. Processes, strategy and planning are not communicated or perhaps non-existent. Cultural immaturity, bullying managers and a poisoned atmosphere can make this a deeply unhappy, unfair and unrewarding place to work. The inability of leadership to communicate with or value its team has led to so many key people departing across the business, the churn is constant and very few credible/experienced staff remain. Run on military bluster, civil service pomposity, and certain people's 'reckons' instead of evidence and strategy - no substitutes for caring, imaginative, communicative leaders.

A mish mash

Pros

Flexible structure means empowerment to do what you think needs doing, with support as needed from management. Some very good employees with interesting backgrounds in intelligence, diplomacy, SF etc.

Cons

Needs a big restructure to close the underperforming parts of the business. Look closely at what is losing money, and make some difficult decisions about cutting. The whole cyber and technology side is bleeding money and reducing profits from the rest of the company. Close the cyber office, their products and software are very rubbish and overpriced. We can't compete on price or quality. Bring a few of the good cyber guys into the London office and sack the rest. Bring bankrolled by a mysterious middle Eastern billionaire makes for an odd company with opaque motivations. Absolutely no company strategy. None.
