Old Boy's Club!

Pros

The only pro at Pinnacle is your fellow "minions" and the weekly dog visits.

Cons

Pinnacle, Pinnacle, Pinnacle....where to start. All of the reviews are true, this place is a cesspool, RUN!!! There is reason as to why all of your employees are leaving or looking to leave! When I first started, upper management was pleasant, friendly and trustworthy. Then a few of the really good managers left and things turned for the worse. Let's just say if you're not part of the "Old Boy's Club" you're of no value to them so women and minorities need not apply! I'd also like to take a minute to discuss the extreme nepotism that Pinnacle exudes. You would think that in any successful business plan they would want to promote from within to impact employee morale and to prevent lower training costs. Instead, Pinnacle thought it would be wise to hire someone's wife to work directly under her husband. Now, I know I'm "just a woman" but why would you create an environment that is demoralizing to your current employees? And an even bigger question is why does the C-Level Executives allow it? Let's be real, it's not like any of their friends or family members actually contribute to the greater good! I could go on but why waste my time, as I'm sure this post will be taken down soon after I press submit in order for them to save face. Or someone will reply saying I'm simply a 'disgruntled employee and I am not a true representative of the culture'. In summation, if you thrive in the above mentioned atmosphere you are probably a terrible person and Pinnacle is just the place for you. But for those of you who are looking for or simply take pride in working for a moral and ethical company, this is not the place for you and I recommend to keep searching! To the current amazing Pinnacle employees, you are worth more than they will ever tell you and you deserve better! Thank you for being the only positive thing to look forward to during my tenure there. PS, your coffee sucks.

We appreciate all feedback and the time and energy spent to reflect upon your time at Pinnacle. While we would like to point out that six of the thirteen members of the Executive team are female and the above referenced new hire possessed over 15 years experience, we would have welcomed such a conversation during your tenure versus after. We wish you the utmost success on your future endeavors.

Not absolutely awful for a first job, but certainly not a career

Pros

Most of the people you will work with will be really great. Contrary to that asinine review, I worked with many very hardworking millenials at this company. I met some great people here and I still keep in touch with all of them. There is A LOT of turnover. This may seem like a con, but in terms of career growth if you stick around for a year or two you will almost definitely be promoted to a "manager" role. While the role itself will not consist of any real managing, it is still officially your title and it is incredibly easy to spin this during interviews for other jobs. That's why I gave them a 5 star for career opportunities. If you can handle the garbage you can really spin something great out of this job.

Cons

I would give it a 2.5/5 if I could, but that isn't an option. Management is awfully sexist. This is the south and it's a fairly small company, so they can get away with saying some things that maybe a larger company wouldn't be able to, but I think the fact that they cannot keep an HR director employed for any real length of time says a lot. During a company wide meeting I once heard the president say "I worked with a lot of women at my old company, so don't worry, I know how to deal with you all." You will be severely underpaid for the amount of work you do. Which is fine at a first job, I think, especially in sales. However, upon moving up and being given more responsibility you will not be given a substantial raise. Like one other reviewer mentioned, someone once got a "raise" of $500. The amount of work is also staggering. I have heard from many of the people I still keep in touch with that once they found a good job after Pinnacle they were shocked at how not overworked they were. They were also surprised that they had stopped crying at work due to stress. :/ Lots of crying at Pinnacle. Someone cries at least once almost every single day, usually due to being overworked. I really hate to talk so poorly about a company that set me up for a lot of success in my current position, however the majority of what other negative reviewers are saying is not false. If you can deal with Pinnacle for a couple of years you'll be good to go as far as applying for other jobs is concerned, however prepare to be depressed and drink heavily with your coworkers for a couple of years. And prepare to be poor.

A Good Starting Point

Pros

These back and forth reviews are pretty misleading. They seem either con heavy or pro heavy with no real balance. They also really undercut the people who are actually trying to make changes. There are account directors who care so much about the people who they work with, and only want the best for the people on their teams. Just because some of the people higher up may not be the best fit, doesn't mean that there aren't people who are truly worth looking up to in manager roles. (Here's looking at you C and K) HERE ARE SOME PROS: - It gives you a chance to grow up. Hiring people right out of college means that you get some little jerks. I was a little jerk when I started. Pinnacle gave me the chance to grow up and get my act together so that I knew how to work in a business environment when I switched companies. They are very forgiving about a lot of things, and give you more chances than they often should. - Friends. Some of my best friends have come from Pinnacle. While that's not the main reason you go to work everyday, it does make it a hell of a lot easier to do so. I got a lot of much needed hugs and beer lunches during particularly stressful days. - Dave listens. He cares a lot and I believe that he actually wants people to succeed and do well. - If you're a good employee, they will let you leave on good terms. All these people complaining about "folks getting asked to leave after they put their notice in," those employees were garbage. They complained non stop every day and job hunted on the clock and didn't do any real actual work. So yeah, they got terminated upon quitting. SURPRISE.

Cons

A lot of things suck. That's true. But at the end of the day, work is a 4 letter word, and nearly all of my friends hate their jobs. THINGS TO IMPROVE UPON: - Flexibility. There were several times I worked from home and still had to take PTO. More flexibility with hours would do a world of good. If you abuse it, you lose the privilege. But if management would trust us more, then we would trust them more. - Recognition. The only time people started getting recognized who weren't the loud complainers, was when we all campaigned for employee of the month and chose someone from our teams who was doing an actual outstanding job and needed to be noticed. Just because people are loud, doesn't mean they're the best. - Transparency. Several of the managers are good at being transparent, but half of them still make you beg them for information. Not gossip. But things that are actually important to your future with the company. They should be more open about things. Again, trust us and we trust you. - Opportunity. A lot of the people that I know left this company because they had no real opportunities for growth. They need to open up more roles and positions that would allow people to succeed. - Money. I started out at a pretty typical college grad salary. I think that my raises were often times fair, but sporadic. They definitely need a better review process and compensation plan.
