Pros

Co workers are great, helpful, and insightful. At the time, Santa Monica was a great place to work.

Cons

The executive team is the main problem to this company. I worked for koi since 2016- and it has been an overall roller coaster. I was hired to book the CEO's appointments, her travel, and log her expense reports, which it was when I started. However there are other task that were demeaning (drive an older lady who was her friend around to her Dr appointments, grocery store runs, constant manual labor of moving heavy furniture up and down 2 flight of stairs daily, and sadly this office did not have an elevator or escalator, etc. However the biggest issue was when this company went through a bankruptcy. The REASON for the bankruptcy was not because of the employees work performance, designs, or the sales- but due to a prior incident in 2014 that was a decision made by the CEO! Of course-the executive team made everyone else feel responsible for koi's financial hardships, however took 0 accountability for their part. 0! However koi employees didn't have any further holiday events, downgraded everything in the office, and was left scrambling to do basic task with what we had because they refused to spend funds on anything, except gifts for retailers/vendors. I walked away from this company not planning to say anything, but to hear that the CEO is now saying negative things about those who decided to leave makes me write this. The CEO is all about the image, but fails to remember what is done in the dark always comes to light. I will make sure anyone who ask why I left, and what I think about koi, I will be honest, and TRANSPARENT about what it was like working at koi. Lastly- no growth, no bonuses since I began working there (yes, even after they got out of bankruptcy and a guy bought 2/3 of the company and koi had some money- the CEO and Executive Team still did not offer anything to the employees at koi), and 0 employee morale or employee appreciation.

The retail customes are great.

Cons

Owner doesn't listen to what customers wants and needs for their business. Resist to change in an every changing market. Benefits are non existant. Treats employees as if they are a number and not a person
