I worked at KVH Industries full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Innovative Company - Inertial Nav esp. - Friendly work culture - frequent hellos and goodbyes by fellow KVHers - nice people in general. - Modern technology is everywhere - Decent amount of data to work with - across departments - No lack of projects. In fact, there's a lot of work to be done - Anytime Fitness member perk that is also right next door - Yoga and Meditation classes on site - Nice, well kept campus - Decent Pay - You get a bonus - Good Benefits - Highly corporate culture, if you're into that kinda thing. - The CEO is cordial - There's a spaceship coffee machine...there really should be more than one. Shhhhhh don't be too loud! There's a demo in the media center! - Treats on Fridays - Ruffles, Goldfish, M&Ms, Cheesepuffs(seriously tho?), soft drinks, hard drinks, and big jenga. - Free lunch one day a month where they do a raffle - Career pathing and advancement opportunities are emerging - "Open door policy-ish" - You interact with a ton of stakeholders and directors - In a good location if you're local to Aquidneck Island.

    Cons

    - General feeling of discombobulation, and suspicion across departments - and across the pond. - One is heard, but not listened to - Hard work is acknowledged, but not rewarded - Little budget for employee education - Lots of hallway chatter/politics - Pretty conservative

I worked at KVH Industries full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Work with high tech stuff, some great personalities there, reasonable salaries for rhode island but read cons for the negatives. Location is in Newport great only in the summer, lots to do. Company parking. Lunch first wednesday every month. Social Gatherings every friday.

    Cons

Very long work hours, sometimes 60 to 80 hours of work and no compensation for the overtime. Make sure everything agreed on is in the job offer, I requested comp time when getting hired they said they will work it out and when I asked for it, they said they will not allow it. If you have to work all that time make sure you request high salary. You have to negotiate all terms upon getting hired, they will not care afterwards. Be careful what you say or do there, once you are on their bad side you are there permanently. My supervisor was trying to move up to an executive position and decided to overwork his employees and not compensate them for all that work. Company has a great future but can only achieve it if things change in it especially management. $500 deductible on insurance.

    Cons

    I worked at KVH Industries

    Pros

Good programs for wellness and health through BCBS Catered lunch served once a month at the Rhode Island global headquarters

    Cons

Lack of diversity Lack of growth opportunities for career advancement Low salaries with small benefit packages compared to other companies Favoritism is rampant Frequent opposition to change and new ideas Very negative work environment, frequent "talk behind your back" Very short staffed; workers are often burned out with amount of work Senior management is "old-fashioned", most being with the company for their whole career
