Pros

State of the art, bleeding edge technologies. Used to have good benefits and monthly team-building exercises with nice prizes.

Cons

The CEO and CIO/CMO have a strange, unwritten bond. Both seem very paranoid and pre-occupied about what the public/workers might be saying. It's a division of Nook Industries run by a Nook child. Extremely high turnover.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. I’m glad you recognized the advanced technology and capabilities we’ve built here—that innovation is exactly why we’re trusted by many of the world’s most forward-thinking manufacturing companies across aerospace, medical, and industrial markets. We’ve experienced significant growth over a short period of time, and with that growth have come real lessons. Scaling a high-performance manufacturing business isn’t easy, and we haven’t gotten everything right along the way. We’ve made changes to leadership structure, benefits, communication, and culture based directly on feedback from our team. Helix Linear is an independent, family-founded company built on accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement—not perfection. Our focus today is on building a durable organization with clear direction, strong leadership, and long-term opportunities for people who want to grow with us. We respect that this environment isn’t the right fit for everyone, but we’re confident in the path forward and proud of the customers, team members, and partners who are helping us shape the next chapter.

Pros

You gain experience fast by doing many different things

Cons

The reason you gain experience fast is because they are under staffed in the shop

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I appreciate the acknowledgment that people gain broad, hands-on experience here, but I’m concerned by the rest of what you’ve written. If staffing levels, leadership behavior, or my own words or actions made anyone feel undervalued or disrespected, that is not acceptable and not the culture we aim to create. We expect high standards and accountability at Helix, but those expectations must always be paired with professionalism and respect for the people doing the work. I take feedback like this seriously and will continue to reflect, learn, and improve as a leader, while also focusing on staffing, communication, and support so our teams can succeed without unnecessary strain.

The Problems Start at the Top

Pros

The hourly production employees are the biggest company asset. They are the reason things get done. They need to be treated as such, but are not.

Cons

Like the title says, it starts at the top. The CEO needs to realize his condescending attitude towards everyone there is why people leave. It’s not like he writes in his review of his own company on this site that people leave because they don’t want to step up.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I want to be clear that I agree with one important point you raised: our hourly production employees are absolutely the backbone of this company, and their skill, effort, and commitment are the reason we succeed. If anyone has felt undervalued, disrespected, or intimidated, that is not acceptable and not the culture we are trying to build. I won’t dismiss this feedback, even though it’s difficult to read. Leadership requires accountability, and that includes me. We run a demanding, fast-paced operation, but intensity should never cross into disrespect or undermine trust. I am committed to continuing to learn, to listening more closely, and to ensuring that professionalism and respect are non-negotiable expectations for everyone in leadership. For those still on the team, I encourage direct, honest dialogue so concerns can be addressed constructively and in real time. We will not get everything right, but we will continue working to build a workplace where people are treated with dignity, held to high standards, and genuinely valued. — Chris Nook
