I worked at Glanbia Performance Nutrition full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits but they don’t deliver on the promises during recruitment. Well known brands that are getting challenged in the marketplace everyday.

    Cons

While they talk about innovating, they are very slow. It’s very political and they don’t like change or disruption. Look at their stock price over the last 5 years, no real change. They have the franchise on protein powders but it won’t last. CEO doesn’t care.

    Advice to Management

Know where you want to go and treat employees fairly.

    Pros

Your not only sales but also customer service, and you get free t shirts. The entire company has 3 customer service agents, so who do you think handles all the extra workload? SALES

    Cons

Company does not care about its employees, its a big popularity contest, all the managers have a little clique going on and they play favorites with employees. Shouting matches are a pretty regular occurance, theres a manger that trains martial arts and i've personally seen him be aggressive towards certain people. there is nothing but absolute misery in the boca office. Employees talk with each other all the time saying how much they dislike the job. A very sink or swim mentality, and absolutely no loyalty to its hard working employees, but loyalty only to the mighty dollar. This company has it backwards in their treatment of their employees, and the people they treat the worst are their sales staff, (Which are The very people bringing in the money). They work you to death giving you an impossible workload and very unreasonable sales goals. Also they have no system in place, so there is no CRM, no automated system to save company data CC and save the sales employee time. you have to do everything manually which is very time consuming since you have to come up with different ways on how to put items on an excel sheet, log calls etc.. Here is the day to day on what you do: You come in, send your previous days sales to your manager by email, (this is by the way the worst manager you want to have, everybody in the sales team has got into an argument with this manager.) The manager also has an assistant that literally does anything he is told, and that assistant runs around like the A kissing pet that he is, making sales employees life a living hell. So Once you send your manager your previous days sales numbers, then you have to start processing orders that are sitting in your mailbox, this is lengthy and takes hours (now again there are no systems in place so you have to put the entire order in manually on to an excel sheet which takes FOREVER Especially if you have more than 150 customer accounts that you are responsible for) Meanwhile your responsible for reaching out to the warehouse, to shipping company, making 60 plus outbound calls daily, Replying to every single customer email, weather there asking for tracking, order status, credit status, its all up to you. Then your given a rediculous monthly sales goals, based on previous years, so your goal may be 300k for the month, but you might get to 270k and get no commission. On top of that, this company once sold only directly now they sell through distributors which make it very very hard to attain the desired goals.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the inside sales manager, as he is no good for the culture of any company. Be loyal to your hard working employees. There have been hard working employees with the company who have left or were let go by a staff who is indifferent to the voice of the workers. Give proper sales commissions, If i produce 300k in the month for the company give me more that a few 100 bucks pls.

I worked at Glanbia Performance Nutrition full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

All employees receive a $20 gift card for Christmas Bonus! Ha! Leftover samples from major events are given to employees.

    Cons

Employee moral is at an all time low but the new leadership will have you believe otherwise. Presenting the laughable (untraceable) weekly wins. Zero transparency when it comes to bonus, quarterly numbers, etc. If you dare ask about an update or any concerns your accounts may have, be prepared to be considered "NOT a team player". Already with 2 new product launch failures (and counting) the BOD will have the results state otherwise by the VP and Directors. Unrealistic goals and deadlines based on managements lack of experience in the industry along with micromanaging and Egos are adding to the deterioration of moral. This is not a sales rep position, this is a blueprint for a Frito-lay, coca-cola driver in which the bonus structure changes on a quarterly basis.

    Advice to Management

Clean house (start from the top) and promote staff from within the company or industry. The CPG format will never succeed in retail stores so long as the majority of the budget is spent on Costco, Internet and Private Label. Listen to your employees no matter what position they're in.

I worked at Glanbia Performance Nutrition full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Discount on products and being a part of taste testing for new products in addition to SWAG is a major perk.

    Cons

Micromanaged on a daily basis, unrealistic expectations and lack of communication. Having little direction and guidance hindering you from becoming successful.

    Advice to Management

Have one goal as a whole that's obtainable, not set your employees up for failure.
