Pros

Good exposure - baptism of fire approach which works for some. Able to learn and pick up new skills quickly.

Cons

The most backwards, and disgusting company I have worked for. If I could score less than one star, I would! Upper management and HR do not give a toss about the staff and are completely and utterly devoid of empathy or understanding for their employees. There is a huge "man's club" culture which stems down from the management. Bullying, name calling and even threatened violence is common place. HR all aware of it happening and do nothing. No empathy for well being or mental health, they will work you into the ground and then ask you to work harder. Goal posts are often moved and targets unreasonable. Lack of training on absolutely everything and no reward or even acknowledgement for hard work. Huge disparity in how different teams doing the same function work, no clear guidance or direction on anything. If you are "chums" with upper management then you get a carte blanche to do what you like, whilst those around you suffer. Avoid working here like the plague! Huge racism and sexist remarks are common place everyday which is widely ignored or even encouraged.

Pros

An interesting place to work due to the vast amount of technologies - no two days the same.

Cons

Where do I begin.... Dealt with the pandemic appallingly - no remote working support for those struggling and offices closed with little consultation. Terrible communication - you never got any updates from senior management about what was happening in the company. Toxic environment - no trust in management as they would openly discuss personal matters with other members of the team. Poor salary and personal development - No PDPs or 121s to discuss KPIs and subsequently this acted as a convenient barrier against pay reviews. Few employee benefits and incentives. Monthly threat of redundancy due to rapid mergers and acquisitions. This also meant that systems and policies were never integrated properly and so Extreme micromanagement and not so flexible working - They would say it was fine but then pull you up if you were away from Skype for more than a minute. Many of us truly wanted to work hard for the company and for the teams that generally (below management level), were fantastic to work with. Unfortunately it was overshadowed by poor practices.

Pros

Working from home...not much else

Cons

Everything about this place is backwards and all aiming to get the guys at the top a larger bank account while the people doing the actual work are looked down time and time again The management structure is a joke! There are so many of them too and it genuinely feels like there are more managers sat on their backsides than resources available to actually assist clients and do our jobs - we essentially work blindfolded and gagged with one are tided behind our backs with the stupid restrictions put into place You want support? You need help? Oh well...if you think anyone will care that you're overworked, already doing far more than other Service Desks but also get zero bonuses or even some recognition...think again, all they want is money money money and they can hire someone with zero experience cheaper than you Training - None Support - Non existent Infrastructure - Completely fragmented and laughable Management - Work half days, have zero technical knowledge and purely look to run you until you burn out or leave Company - Avoid at all costs! They are so terrible they buy other companies just to use their names and present them to clients as the GCI brand is trash Trustworthy - Haha...nope. You get promised a lot but they never actually deliver, you are passed from contract to contract with zero training or even notiation, the 'generous' bonus scheme is a mess as it is completely unobtainable due to you being passed around the company like a parcel at a child's birthday party
