Doesn't Listen

Pros

Like all companies, there are some really good people.

Cons

Leads/Middle Management seem to fear upper management and therefore do not take advice from staff skilled in certain areas. This causes issues further down the track when things go wrong as the right people were not listened too. A lot of the time it feels like there is no plan, there is just 'Do it' which leads to sub-standard work. The different teams don't work well together and there is always the 'blame game' going on which I think goes back to the fear of management thing.

A nightmare

Pros

Had the chance to work with some amazing people.

Cons

-FC puts a lot into optics and "branding" but the current success of the company is built on the fumes of multiple acquisitions and an all-star marketing team -Numerous examples of “initiatives” undertaken to make the company look good on paper, but it’s opportunistic padding to cover the extremely dysfunctional work environment - High turnover across the company should tell you something -Product is clunky, buggy and sometimes overly complicated for new users, the amount of training it takes to get customers to understand the product is wild -Customer reviews for the product vary from 1.8 - 2.3 -Exec environment is an old boys club -I found most of the exec team unapproachable and generally uninspiring to work for; with the CEO as tone deaf and completely unaware of the breakdowns in multiple places in the company, perhaps he’s too busy running his luxury boutique hotel in Crete to care? -Pandemic lay offs came from top down and seemed arbitrary, LOTS of shock across the company about who was let go and why, little consultation with managers about their staff being cut -CEO was extremely cagey and used a lot of jargon during virtual town halls and dodged accountability left and right during the pandemic, called the telematics sector and the company itself “recession proof”!!! -CEO then proceeded to FLEX his new baby blue Porsche with a luxury bike rack + $10,000 Pinarello bike AND his fine dining patio drinks with the boys on Instagram after the second wave of layoffs at the company during covid-19. This man does not give a crap about his people. -It’s a top heavy org and a company of managers and directors. Lots of overpromising and under-delivery at all levels in all teams -The layoffs have made things worse for staff at lower levels and naturally a smaller group of people have to take on the work of the dozens let go - lots of burnout and a fair share of near mental breakdowns -Scapegoating and holding together business strategy with plausible deniability, a lot of secrets and knowledge hoarding -Very little process, clear communication and common sense for something that is now a mid-size firm and not a startup -A lot of firefighting here so their value of “innovation” seems to rarely be supported -heavy use of office politics and you move up the ranks by playing the game and greasing the right wheels. Merit often counts for nothing.

Pros

Leaving this horrible, awful place

Cons

This place was great for awhile but it went downhill fast. Management is too busy worrying about keeping up smoke and mirrors for Tony than actually making real processes that work or fixing problems. Planned 2 years for a major system change and it failed fantastically - that's FC for you! There are rules for certain depts that dont apply to others. Management will make promises over and over with no intention of following through and will string you along to make you think you will get what youre asking for. Employees are extrememly overworked and micromanaged, and constantly under staffed and expected to shoulder the burden. Everyone is chronically underpaid from marketvalue and they expect you to just accept it or leave. THey try to mask it under 'rapid growth' but its all lies. Its just mismanagement at its finest. Literally no one cares about listening to anyone other than the sales reps because they bring in all the money, but 95% of them are lying to customers and putting the blame on Support while expecting them to fix their clients incorrect expectations. Director turns a blind eye to the holes in process. They have idiots in management under them that have no clue how to do their jobs and senior workers who know more than them. Dont bother trying to suggest changes or improvements because it wont get done, or someone will steal your ideas and pretend they thought of it to get the credit. Some dept managers will prevent you from moving to others because they cant afford to lose you or fill your role. Oh, and 90% of these reviews are fake. Tony, stop asking people to write these to boost your score. Anyone who actually worked for your company for any length of time knows the truth about this place. Maybe you should work on fixing the culture for your workers and pay them a real wage!!! Take it from someone who did a lot for the company and got nothing in return...stay away.
