Pros

Easy to get a job Have a great "mission"

Cons

Run away from this company. They are horribly mismanaged. This company doesn't have any smart leaders. When they don't know how to manage their business, they hire a new VP and reorganize the company (every 18-20 months). Most of the people in Director or above positions have NO IDEA how to run a business or manage people, they provide no value and are "stuck" in the old ways (this is how we have always done it). It's all about who you know - if you are friends with (or have dirt on) the C-suite, you have it made in the shade - if not, don't expect any career movement. Zero opportunities for career growth or advancement, they don't give raises or promotions to current employees and offer more money to new hires. Because of all the re-orgs the business spins in circles, every year we get a new boss and they have a new direction. So we change our course to align with the new boss' goals, create new processes, and try to learn the "new way" of working....just to have them "organized out" of the job in 12-16 months. Then there is a new boss, new goals, and the process starts all over again - rinse and repeat over and over again. Work ANYWHERE else!

We understand that the marketing team has undergone more change than other parts of the business. We recognize that ‘how we’ve always done it’ must adapt, and that requires changes in leadership, organization, and process. For compensation, we price every role in the business individually. We include every employee in the annual employee incentive bonus program. We take your feedback seriously and appreciate you sharing this feedback.

Pros

- The team is great. Both morning and night shift tend to interact well and joke. Both teams know the importance of time and place meaning they take work seriously but also have fun. - Manager of the department is really cool and is a team leader. Really cares for the team - Good job to gain experience

Cons

- Peak season is a drag. 72hr weeks for ~11 weeks really takes a toll, and upper management doesn't really do anything to help. - The pay isn't all that great compared to other engineers in the Bay Area. - Certification testing follows the procedures of the client and regulatory agencies. There isn't much room to express creative thought. Mundane work. - Regional Manager doesn't have the interest of the employees, only of the client. Regional would go to the meeting as a yes man to the client without consulting the engineering leads. - Ever since UL Solutions went public, it doesn't feel like a safety company. They care more about how much money they can make or save than about the safety of the consumer product.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your thoughts. We are happy to hear that you work in a positive team environment where you feel cared about and that you have been able to gain positive experience. We understand that some may encounter longer working hours, especially during peak periods tied to customer deadlines. Although these situations are time‑limited and part of real project demands, we recognize that extended hours can be challenging and are not something we want to become the norm. We are actively exploring ways to better balance workload expectations, provide clearer guidance around work hours, and ensure managers have the tools to support healthy work practices. We appreciate this feedback.
