Pros
This position actually does teach a lot of good F2F sales skills.
Cons
You will work 60 hours a week and get paid for 30.
Got promoted? Great, now instead of being in Sams' alone, you're training someone and splitting the commission 50/50. They use lofty titles to make you feel like you're important, but no compensation increase--know any reputable companies who promote with no raises?
Pay rate: minimum wage + 18% (or 9% if you're with someone else).... and this commission is on junk goods you have to walk up to people with, normally priced at $50-75 per package.
They make "team building" and getting there early to "work on your team" seem mandatory, but you're not getting paid for any of that. Oh and you need to "break down" your day. This is after hours and sometimes takes a full hour and is definitely not paid.
They use overly positive rhetoric and make you come into the office for a 10 minute ad about the company EVERY DAY. They use completely false figures to show how a "normal" 9-5 puts you in debt and attempts to get you to believe that all your peers working a normal schedule just isn't trying hard enough... this will ostracize you from your friends, family, and peers on purpose.
ZERO PTO, Benefits. Work weekends. Work 7am-8pm. This is not illegal, yet. Any company that has to constantly make points as to why they "aren't" a pyramid scheme is a sketchy company.
