Pros

Only enjoyed working with many of the full-time consultants who worked there during this time, all of whom have since moved on.

Cons

The Sales leadership at Statera operates like an old boys club. They have a practice of hiring junior reps, giving them no mentoring or support, and then waiting until they find a big deal before squeezing them out and feeding the business to the sales managers (who carry a sales bag) or senior account executives who are "in the club". They will chase any type of work and will leverage contractors or prospective hires, and sales assets from practices that no longer exist to appear that they can do the work. If they win, they will staff these projects mostly with hourly or 1099 employees, so delivery is a major weakness. And be prepared to be let go if you're a consultant and hit the bench for more than a week. I know a few people who still work there today (2014) and it seems nothing has changed.

Statera Response
10y
This is Marcelle Wall, Sales Director at Statera, who happens to be female. I've been with the firm for 6 & 1/2 years, and regret that I am just now seeing this post, as I would have responded to it sooner. I have to say that I can vehemently deny each and every point in this review of Statera. There are 6 sales reps on our team, and all of them are seasoned executives with a Client for Life commitment. We and our Consulting team members focus on delivering exceptional value for our clients within our highly evolved practice areas. Our methodologies, estimating models, accelerators and deliverables have been honed and perfected over 1000's of successful client engagements, and are what I believe to be our "insurance policy" for making our clients happy and referenceable. Also part of our secret sauce is using primarily salaried employees on the overwhelming majority of our client engagements. This ensures continuity for our clients. And on that point, we have the lowest turnover in our industry. We recruit, hire, invest in, develop and grow great talent; and in return they love the culture and stay here to work with all of our clients on all of our great projects. It is unfortunate that this individual has this opinion, but I certainly disagree, as I'm sure my colleagues also would.
