Great place for work life balance - Dentist Smile Programs Mobile Dentists Employee Review

Challenging work at times (new environment every day/working with what we have in different settings), but very VERY rewarding. Being mobile dentistry, we require every to travel. When we go to these different schools, we're traveling to where the need is... the under-served children... and this is where I've seen the most complaints. People need to understand that the rural areas are where they need us the most - thus why travel is so important!! Being able to provide children dental care that may have never seen a dentist before - is literally life changing work.

Can be challenging work, and isn't necessarily the best fit for everyone. Demanding at times.

It was great to see patients one right after the other without adhering to the clock. Some patients took more time, some less, and each patient got the attention they needed which I enjoyed. I loved the little kids, I loved being in a different place every day, and I loved working with different people every day. I didn’t even mind the travel.

The only thing that I didn’t enjoy were my coworkers who complained and created drama. I’m grown enough to know that no job is perfect, and I’ve had way worse jobs. The compensation was low compared to dental office jobs, especially when taking into account travel. I accepted these trade-offs gladly because I loved school based mobile dentistry so much.
