Perfectly fine - Director Proteus Employee Review

After 24 years with my previous company, joining Proteus Discovery has been a refreshing experience — the culture, leadership, and innovation here are the best I’ve ever seen, and the talented team makes every day rewarding.

No significant cons to note — it’s been a genuinely positive experience so far.

Very laid-back culture. Some people don’t show up until 11am which is often a hindrance to collaboration.

Extremely outdated tech and management techniques. Well below average compensation. High rate of turn over for a company that supposedly prides itself on culture mainly because the company values are all talk and no action. Constant mention of candor by management while they simultaneously encourage developers and product managers to lie to clients about estimates and reasons for a feature not being done on time (You’d think they might pick up on the correlation there...) The senior devs skate by mainly because of their job security as they developed and are the only ones who could possibly understand the archaic platform the company bases all of its products on. They spend most of their time fixing bugs that routinely make it to production due to a complete lack of unit and/or e2e testing.
