Pros

For the Record I did enjoy my Job at Phillips... But..At Phillips Part you can work real hard and then train someone younger so they can take your job. You can work hard with Zero Bonus so the Owner can buy a brand new truck. You can work hard with barely a raise so the Owner can blow it all on lawsuits. Trust me its exciting..

Cons

You get laid off with Zero Severance pay. I repeat.. $0.00 severance pay. Ask any former business partner what they think of pwnership. Nothing good to say... Did I mention Zero Severance pay in the Spring of 2015?

Every statement in this post is untrue, with the possible exception of the first statement which states, "For the Record I did enjoy my Job at Phillips." Regarding severance pay, we always pay severance if someone is terminated, I have to assume the person who posted this either resigned, still works here or is simply not telling the truth. If this person resigned, they probably did not get severance pay which we typically do not pay when someone resigns. Regarding the company truck, it is not owned by the owner of the company; it is owned by the company; it is garaged at our offices and is used constantly by employees for work related site visits. The statement that we do not give bonuses is simply untrue. Every employee got a bonus in December of 2014. I would like to add that we pay competitive salaries, and I'm told we have the best health insurance benefits in the industry. In addition, while many design firms discontinued their 401K programs during the recession, we kept the 401K in place and continue to offer this. Compensation is measured by the dollar amount of the sum of your salary, bonus, and benefits. There are other firms out there that have trimmed their benefits (such as health insurance and 401Ks) and convert part of these savings into a bonus. We believe that good health insurance and saving for retirement are a priority and have never cut corners on our benefits. The statement that we are spending money suing others is also simply untrue. We are not a plaintiff in any lawsuit. As far as the age of employees hired, we have many employees over the age of 50. In fact, in the past few months 2 out of the 3 people hired in technical positions were over the age of 50, so again, this is simply not true.

Pros

Many people have worked at Phillips for long periods of time. Everyone seems to be interested in mentoring new staff. I can see how people have moved up or have been promoted over their tenure here. Senior staff and managers are very approachable.

Cons

Salary's are good, but there is not a structured bonus/profit plan

Pros

I actually love working here. There is opportunity for growth if you take it. Our higher ups are very approachable and friendly and in my opinion, go above and beyond to make the company a great place for their employees. Starbucks coffee on tap. Birthday cake for everyone's birthday. Health wellness programs, potlucks and parties, company events like participating in 5k's and challenges with prizes. My studio is like a family - we help each other out. We are encouraged to teach as well as learn. Our admin goes way above and beyond to help us with whatever we need. The campus is beautiful. We have good benefits and 401k. This company is very family oriented, they've met my kids and I've met theirs and its no big deal if you have to leave early to go pick up your child. Very flexible, fun, and relaxed atmosphere. I have learned a lot since working here.

Cons

The traffic in Dunwoody is awful. Just awful. We may be a bit behind on technology, we only just recently got a 3D printer and have yet to really use it much. Printing in-house is a royal pain sometimes. They do a lot of fire drills. The geese in the lake get aggressive in the late spring and will chase you if you get too close.

In response to feedback received about traffic as well as the desire to have on site daycare and other upgraded amenities, we are moving our office in February 2016 to the Palisades which is across the street from the Concourse. This will improve the commute for everyone in that we will be closer to 400 and 285; this move will also allow us to escape the Perimeter Mall traffic. In addition, we will have daycare within steps of our new office which will allow people to personally check on their children during the day as well as to have lunch with their child. We will also have a corporate membership to the very upscale Concourse Athletic Club which any employee can join. The monthly membership fee will be subsidized by the company to make it affordable.
