Pros
Very good resources given to you
Strong sales training and commission scheme if you are over 100%
Paid work nights out were fun
Cons
Insane workload and no personal life, 12- 16 hour workdays, and work on weekends are the norms
Culture of fear and bullying which is at best, ignored by management, at worst it is actively encouraged (Seen good salespeople bullied out of the company, average tenure of a BD is six months, the average tenure of an AM a little of twelve….)
Threats from management to be taken to HR over minor infractions commonplace (Not completing KPI tracker on time, not doing a set amount of calls in one day etc)
A fanatical obsession with KPIs which is both outdated and ineffective, BDs expected to do 60-80 dials a day even if you already have 4 hours of calls
Heavy KPI focus results in poor quality of work due to ridiculous workload, ultimately resulting in poor opportunity management and worse close rates
Downward pressure from management results in salespeople being terrified to speak to clients and results in poorer performance from stress
Un-sackable and incompetent middle management promotes a culture of fear and failure, the division will never be successful until these people are removed but I’m not holding my breath
Culture of bullying has been perpetrated by the same managers for years with nothing has been done by upper management or HR…. despite both being repeatedly told
