Pros

As one of the prior reviews said, the teachers, instructors are gifted. The new administration is great. The CEO took over a dying school and has turned it into something the community wanted. The team work and the admin staff are heading in the right direction.

Cons

The BOD's are a bunch of controlled puppets. The founder is still controlling the prior board chair and you can tell in that the board doesn't get involved with the day to day operations.

Pros

I see that there are a number of negative reviews here, but these are all from at least a few years ago, and they don't reflect what it feels like to work at PUENTE now. There was a period of some instability and transition, after the founder left and when there was some leadership turnover in the CEO role and with the Board. But these days, PUENTE really is a very good place to work, with a positive workplace culture where nonprofit professionals can help the community and achieve real results. Jerome Greening has been CEO since fall 2018. He and the executive team are proving to be competent. They are actually achieving results, they are implementing a major building renovation, and the company has a good financial outlook. It seems like the students and parents feel generally satisfied. I know that the staff feels supported. Also, the community is a big part of what makes PUENTE great. Walking through the lobby and seeing students from many different generations, I feel in the presence of the company's mission, and this is a motivating factor for me in my work.

Cons

The organization is still dealing with the after-effects of several years with leadership turnover. The staff might not feel the effects on a day-to-day basis, but more could be done to improve the Board of Directors and repair the company's reputation.
