Pros
free pepsi if the hosts are feeling nice
Cons
don't pay a living wage and expect staff on that wage to clean up sick and poo
one (1) clueless medic for the entire venue
completely ineffective security who let absolutely anyone in - people are so hammered they're trying to pay entry with a tesco clubcard. they're then sold more alcohol and get kicked out for starting fights etc
staff areas are full of black mould
godawful pay system - god forbid you have a pay query because you WILL be ignored by the club if you use the official channels (eg emailing the club) - you have to shout from the rooftops and constantly harass the club so that management are humiliated into sorting it out for you. to access your own money.
i sustained an injury on the job due to terrible crowd control and ineffective security - the club's fault. the medic barely knew what planet he was on and couldn't spell the medical condition playing a role in the injury so just didn't record the condition. management didn't give a toss and haven't changed anything.
the club risk assessment states that at any point the terrorism risk is substantial - that an attack is likely. if the risk management was being run by competent people that wouldn't bother me as much but considering the fact that the police are in and out most nights arresting people i don't really feel safe at work x
this isn't the club's fault but the general iq of the average pryzm goer is so low you'll want to throw yourself down a flight of stairs
goes without saying but unsociable hours for bad pay (but if you're signing a contract with a nightclub you have to expect that)
staff bullying is a rampant issue and causes high staff turnover
if you already have relevant qualifications (eg food safety level 2, emergency first aid at work etc) they don't care, you still have to do eg a food safety level 1 or face disciplinary action which feels like a waste of everyone's time
management are very quick to threaten disciplinary action to new employees for things like not completing training when it says in the contract that if you've worked for them for something like under a year you aren't subject to disciplinary procedures
yeah don't work here everyone i've spoken to is just in it for the money and most people are looking for another job
