Great company with competitive pay, but high burnout risk - Customer Success Manager (CSM) Nooks Employee Review

Pros

- Great company trajectory - Pay is competitive compared to similar roles on the market - Fun product to sell and our customers usually really love us - The majority of people who work here are really great and fun to be around - Solid group of founders that are ambitious and have done a great job creating a sense of community across the company

Cons

- Your direct manager can make or break your experience (most of them are great, but not all of them) - The work often feels never-ending; most days I'm working at least 10 hours if not more; it's very easy to get burnt out and many do - Depending on your team, you might not be getting enough support and will have to figure things out on your own - There's often miscommunication or lack thereof between departments & this becomes more difficult to navigate as we continue to scale - We're heavily understaffed in multiple departments which is causing many of us to work over our capacity

Pros

FANTASTIC product. clear market leader, engineering team is way ahead of the game and constantly innovating ahead of everyone else. makes our competitors look like the dark ages, easy sell to teams that are cold calling. clear path to promotion and awesome rate of those getting promoted from SDR --> AE and CS Founding team is phenomenal - I really believe in their vision and I really see this company going places. I hope I survive long enough to be a part of it

Cons

very small TAM. revops nightmare. not enough accounts to go around but hiring like crazy despite only half the SDRs are meeting quota. Interview process and repvue is misleading and some of the newbies feel like we were sold a dream a bit as we were told in interview process only 2 or so people weren't meeting quota. there definitely was a time to be an SDR here but things have changed. OTE is not paid out during ramp so you have to be comfy on the base salary for a while. management makes changes for the better but it's reactive not proactive and at the expense of reps not being successful. high high quota + small TAM combo feels unattainable and you get burned out quick. be ready to work harder than you ever have with little payoff at times. most stressful time of my life so far working here
