Pros
Colleagues at head level and below are wonderful across the board and are some of the most talented people you could hope to work with. Workers really believe in the cause, and together have created genuine change in the mental health landscape.
Cons
Unfortunately, under the current Chief Exec's tenure, things have gone dramatically downhill. Everything that used to make Mind a special place to work has now gone. The organisation is in severe financial difficulties thanks to mismanagement at the highest levels. Two extensive restructures in two years have taken place. Unfortunately both have been delivered with shocking levels of incompetence, countless errors and delays. The communications from leadership have been breathtakingly arrogant, seemingly putting the blame on employees at risk rather than taking any accountability whatsoever.
The upshot of all of this is employee mental health has been adversely affected. Leadership draw an artificial divide between the mental health of service users and that of staff, despite us predominately being made up of people with lived experience of mental illness.
