Pros

- MedAcuity is a growing company with many great projects and technologies to work on. - MedAcuity often gets involved at the Phase 0 stage of projects where we get involved in POC all the way through final release. That's pretty exciting. - There is a ton of job security. Attrition and supply chain issues are happening at all of our clients and it can cause unexpected turmoil. No matter what is happening at the client site, in many ways, we don't have to get involved. No politics! Also if budgets get cut and layoffs happen, the MedAcuity team is safe and will just move to another client and project. - After a rocky 2 years (mainly flipped upside down by the pandemic), there was a recent and well anticipated leadership change. Within a few short months, I have already seen a massive change in attitude and overall satisfaction. It's true that a few bad apples have the possibility of spoiling the bunch. The company listened to employee feedback and took action, I've never seen anything like it and it speaks volumes toward how they appreciate and value the employees over a management team. - Company culture is really strong for those who are willing to be involved. It can definitely be a challenge in today's hybrid or mostly remote workforce to feel it or see it, so I can understand why some people claim there is no culture. That being said, there are still a lot of pockets of subculture that are leading the way. Happy hours, game nights, team lunches (on and offsite), beer carts in the afternoons, etc. The biggest event is held every summer at Kimball Farms where the whole company AND THEIR FAMILIES all gather for a fun evening of celebration. MedAcuity culture can be what you want it to be but it requires taking initiative and running with ideas. That's the really special part about our culture. - What has always made MedAcuity great is it's people. Truly some of the brightest and friendliest engineers I've ever worked with. Our team often stands head and shoulders above our client teams, that's a really rewarding feeling knowing that you are with a group of high performers. - Consulting provides an opportunity to grow your skills beyond the keyboard, you get to see and get involved with the business and product roadmaps of our clients. - 2 years at MedAcuity is like working for 2-3 companies. Project based work allows for you to grow your skills without having to jump around jobs. That being said, some projects can run for years at a time. The diversity of work is really refreshing.

Cons

- As a growing company, at times it operates like a start-up at times. People wear many hats and it often causes bottlenecking or bandwidth issues. - The pandemic brought to light some issues with scaling communication company-wide but this is currently being resolves and improvement has been noticed over the past two quarters. - As we grow, we need more internal support in almost every business unit. - Consulting is not for everyone. Sometimes you have a challenging client, sometimes you may have to drive to client location more than you'd like, sometimes the project you are on has schedule issues, etc. No matter what the project is facing, MedAcuity leadership is there to support the MedAcuity team and remind us that the client problems are why we are here. If there were no issues, they wouldn't need us. - The pandemic and hybrid work has it's pros and cons. The culture is definitely strongest when the team is together because we feed off of each other. That being said, people are finally venturing back into the office and dipping their toes back in the water. - There is a lot of volatility with all of our clients and in the software engineering industry as a whole. Labor shortages everywhere and supply chain issues can really disrupt any project that you are on. I don't think this is a MedAcuity thing as much as it is a common issue in this industry/market.

Pros

They take the time to make sure you have an opportunity to hone your skills and choose which environments are best suited for your talents. Even in between positions, you can still get paid and develop skills for the next one.

Cons

Honestly, I don't have much to say poorly for the con of working there. They were great people as well.
