Pros
- EMEA office small, you get to know people more than at a large place - 3/2 WFH split, with a WFH week once a quarter - Culture isn't old school aggressively sharp elbowed and cut throat, though there's restructures and downsizing as with any public company - Big stable business that's been around a long time - For employee shareholders, MFC share price appreciation has been doing very well recently
Cons
- Since it's part of a bigger global firm with multiple business lines, there's more layers of middle managers and bureaucracy, and the political jostling/buck passing that goes with a complex organisational structure - Old firm with lots of legacy issues as a result - Pace of organisational change can be glacial - Stuffy old EMEA office space in a not so great London location
