Pros
High pay, which is also a con now that many are pursuing other opportunities that don’t pay nearly as much.
Cons
Just wanted to clarify the facts to OC Register’s November 5, 2019 story, titled “Karma Automotive restructuring cuts 200 jobs as focus shifts to licensing technology.” You were told that there were no scheduled layoffs at the Moreno Valley plant. This is only true in the fact that layoffs of over 60 people already took place in September 2019. Also immediately after the layoffs that took place on November 1, John Maloney Chief Revenue Officer resigned. Moral is at an all time low and serious damage has been done. The company has basically turned day to day management over to a management consultant by the name of Gilbert Villarreal, who is a partner in VLF Automotive with Bob Lutz & Henrik Fisker and who had originally tried to purchase Fisker out of bankruptcy in 2014, by naming him Interim Chief Operations Officer. This individual was instrumental in basically dismantling entire purchasing department while at the same time bringing multiple family members on to the company’s payroll. Finally, people have absolutely no faith or trust in the very ineffectual and arrogant CEO Dr Lance. During all hands meeting most can only understand about half of what he is saying, and the feeling of some upper management is that when in meetings he is more desirous of showing his intellectual superiority than actually discussing the issue at hand so as to arrive at a consensus on how to proceed.
