Pros

- Company culture generally feels true to the organization's stated values - I've never experienced any resentment about taking time off or needing accommodations of any kind, and (in my experience) management has always made a point to be very respectful about the staff union - HR and Admin are really supportive to staff - Pay is just okay but the benefits are great

Cons

- The board of directors has caused a lot of problems for directors/management, which sometimes means there isn't as much support for Frontline staff - There's sometimes a lack of communication/collaboration between sites

Pros

Best agency I've ever worked for. Everyone is so committed to the youth and supportive of each other. As a director, I'm in the room for conversations about how to better the agency and there is a consistent focus on continuous improvement both in terms of client services and of staff wellness. Staff in all roles are encouraged to innovate and contribute, policies are designed and redesigned to improve equity across the board, huge effort is put into providing the best salaries and benefits the agency can manage, management is asked to gather ongoing feedback about how staff want to be treated and what opportunities they want to explore. Nearly everyone I've worked with is so compassionate and collaborative, truly wanting the best for the youth and the staff. As a result, there is a lot of flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and changing needs. Not to mention the health benefits are INCREDIBLE.

Cons

Management want to provide growth opportunities for staff and HYP does a lot of internal hiring, but opportunities for being promoted are limited simply due to the size of the agency (and the fact that people stick around because it's a great place to work).

Pros

1. Excellent benefits and vacation. 2. Wonderful mission

Cons

1. Board of Directors took over the agency with no clue what they are doing. 2. Very, very low pay and extreme burnout 3. Staff is expected to do way too much on a shoestring budget and the Board took over thinking they could make things better but they tarnished the reputation of the agency and do very little in terms of fundraising.
