- Micromanagement and PUA-style behaviour, with extremely high expectations to deliver “innovative solutions” for every project under tight deadlines, plus constant pressure to prepare extensive meeting materials. This creates self-doubt because there is never any positive feedback — when you do well, the boss takes the credit, and in the same breath says you’re “not doing quite good.” When things don’t go well, the responsibility is pushed onto you. They expect you to create something like DeepSeek or ChatGPT, yet the manager himself doesn’t demonstrate any good examples of reading papers, providing guidance, or offering clear direction. You’re left to figure out everything on your own. - Mainly Chinese is used in meetings, even when there are non-Chinese-speaking colleagues present. This makes those team members feel excluded and results in wasted time for them during meetings.
