Pros

- Reward Scheme - Remote Working - Canteen for days in the office - Good office decor Summary: On the surface, it appears to be a fantastic company and housing association with great interior designers.

Cons

- High turnover of staff in all areas - Lots of staff off sick long term, most due to work-related stress - Salary is advertised at a higher rate for new starters and existing staff are told to "go above and beyond" to get the same money - Systems are old, too many of them and they are constantly breaking - Poor bonus structures - A serious lack of communication and working together between staff, departments, management and to customers. Summary: I regret taking the job. It's emotionally draining and exhausting having to interact with toxic work colleagues on a daily basis. Home Group are full of beautiful, pretty words but very little action and buy in from the majority of management. They have a "Grow Our Own" initiative in a poor attempt to keep staff however the people selected are those with experience, which defeats the purpose of the programme. The customers are seen as numbers and irritants, money is the focus of the business. Not the customer and certainly not the employee. Myself and many others don't understand how they keep winning and being nominated for best employer awards. For the sake of your mental health, don't work here!

Hello and thank you for leaving us your review and for your feedback. Whilst we are disappointed to read this, we do appreciate your honesty and the time you have taken to leave us your review. We are proud that our colleagues love working here and have voted us 5th best place to work in the UK, in the independent great place to work survey. Many of our colleagues celebrate long service each year, myself included – it’s my 20th anniversary working at Home Group this year! I love working alongside brilliant colleagues who are driven to make a difference for our customers. We are passionate about developing our own colleagues through ‘grow our own’ and many colleagues including those working in this team have been promoted to other roles in Home Group. We are proud of that, but do understand that this may cause additional pressures until we recruit backfill to the roles. This is something we will review to see how we can better support. We recently implemented a new CRM so this will streamline processes and will support colleagues better in their role. We are always looking at new ways of working so welcome any ideas on how we could improve our systems. Please do get in touch with us at recruitment@homegroup.org.uk if you want to share anymore feedback. We have shared your review with our managers in this team, so we can look into this further for you and of course learn from it.

Hi There, thanks for your 5 star review. While I am so glad you worked with lovely friendly colleagues. I am utterly disheartened to hear about your experience with our resident! As you will likely know, Home Group has set an objective to be an ED&I global exemplar. In late 2021 we launched our "No Home for Hate" charter in collaboration with customers and colleagues. This charter clearly spells out what kind of behaviour is unacceptable with guidelines on what steps to take in regards to reporting and taking action. No one should suffer this kind of treatment anywhere, never mind the workplace and especially not our workplace! Regards Simone

Hello and thank you for leaving us your review. Thanks for sharing your feedback that there is great flexibility at Home Group, good training opportunities and that we are inclusive! This is really important to us! We value each and every colleague for who they are and the contribution that they bring to our customers. We're sorry to hear that you felt your team were short staffed and lacked a clinical lead and ask if you are happy to tell us more, to get in touch at recruitment@homegroup.org.uk. As you know we pay the living wage, whereas many organisations only pay the national minimum wage. We also have an annual pay award, mutual bonus payment, amongst a wide range of other benefits. We have also recently introduced a health cash plan, saving colleagues from £1140 per annum on healthcare costs including dentists, prescriptions, opticians and much more. Many thanks, Susan
