Pros

The internal chairman’s office team is the only saving grace for this firm along with salary and benefits package

Cons

The Chairman thrives in chaos and constantly shifting priorities, and his management style can be very harsh. Expectations are often unclear, and even when you follow instructions exactly, you still end up being blamed if he doesn’t like the end result. There’s little accountability on his end, even when there’s a clear paper trail showing you did what was asked. Turnover in this role is extremely high, and onboarding is minimal, so you’re often left to figure things out on your own. Former employees have shared similar experiences, so just be aware of what you’re walking into.

Pros

- Amazing track record - Great team and culture to get a lot direct exposure to senior leadership and founders - Develop a broad skill across operations and investing in the early-stage consumer space - Differentiated value proposition to founders when sourcing new deals

Cons

- Intentionally "under the radar", so a little more effort to educate founders on Guild's value-add and track record

Pros

- Great people and energizing culture: It's a tight-knit team, with colleagues who are both whip-smart and a lot of fun to work with - Unique investment approach: Like all great investment firms, Guild takes a contrarian approach to investing, and the process of absorbing, applying and fine-tuning the company's unique playbook is an invigorating one - High level of ownership: Opportunity to drive deals E2E and form deep counseling relationships with founders from very early on

Cons

None to speak of at this point!
