Avoid at all costs! - Picker/Packer Flink Employee Review

The worst job I've ever had the misfortune of doing and I implore everyone to avoid it unless you're deeply desperate. You essentially run around for 8 hours, being screamed and sworn at that you're not going fast enough because it took you 20 seconds to find something on a disorganised shelf. The expectancy of speed causes a risk to both safety and the quality of the work as you don't have time to think or check products use by date. You are pushed and have to push your coworkers out of the way to be faster and the overall health and safety is a joke. I saw people climbing stock shelves, mice in the hub, the bathrooms and kitchen are broken and filthy.... The company culture is disgustingly toxic. Management and shift leaders are constantly swearing at you how bad you are and that you need to go faster and faster and even some of your colleagues join in, but what incentive is there to physically go beyond when you're getting paid nothing and treated like dirt. You're screamed at to pick orders when you're in the process of packing one already like you are able to do both at the same time? One shift leader was deeply discriminative against the south Asian members of the team and that was particularly difficult to see. Oh, and they send you an emails with weekly stats telling you you took 20 seconds instead of 14 to pick something... Deeply dystopian. The shift request system makes it impossible to maintain a regular schedule so warning to all working students that you won't have any consideration for classes/ exams. I chose part time as was only available for this but was constantly asked after 8h shifts if I wanted to work longer and given extra 6h shifts going over my contracted hours.
