Pros

Pay is decent enough for the back breaking work that you have to do on the dock. Most of the longer runs do not require dock work. Are in the process of buying new equipment..ie tractors, fork trucks, dollies and trailers.

Cons

Over the last several years Fedex Freight has rerouted freight to run it on rail lines thus saving money. It did away with a lot of road runs forcing people to either starve to death or quit to find another job. As a new hire most with have to start in the city and then go to the road if their is an opening. There is NO job security with this company. If they can out source moving the freight with another company then a lot of people who have been there for over 17 years will lose their jobs. They transport more of their freight on truck load carriers than they do with their own equipment. The benefits are pitiful. We get a mearger raise and then they jack the health insurance up on us time and time again. The moral is so bad in a lot of places that a lot of people have just started working for the pay check and that is it. They don't go out of their way to fix the problems because management doesn't care what they have to say. They are the most politically correct company I have ever worked for.

Pros

Good pay ,benefits ,and people. Can move up/on to other positions. Education reimbursement too

Cons

Heavier boxes ,also awkward sizes that are large! Then step up into truck with those heavy n awkward boxes.12 hr days, not 10 as posted in job application box. Supposedly contracting out soon so be careful if choose this job.cant follow procedures for truck loading safety bc in reality it’s that’s not how it’s done on trucks bc everyday is a rush (they say it isn’t though)
