Pros
I've been with the company 6 months and feel that you will get out of the company what you are willing to put into it. This is a young, growing conference company, but the owner has over 20 years of industry experience to rely upon. The entire staff is hard working and a cross-functional team, which allows you to develop your skills as you learn. It's definitely not the place for those who just want to watch the clock and pocket a paycheck with minimal effort. It's hard work, challenging, and there is always something new to do and learn.
The scheduled work hours are only 8 hours/day with a 1 hour lunch...first time being able to collect a 40 hour/week salary for a 35 hour work week. There's lots to do, so I'm usually there longer, but that knowledge and flexibility is comforting. It reinforces to all the employees to have a healthy work/personal life balance.
The owner is generous and keeps snacks, coffee/tea, filtered water and an assortment of drinks on hand for his staff to enjoy without charge.
Cons
There are always bumps in the road and obstacles to overcome when you are a young, fast growing company, but here, the staff all works hard to overcome them and ensure the company is successful.
The benefits are basic unless you are willing to pay more for coverage.
