Pros
The people who work here are a close-knit group and work hard despite little to no direction from management and absolutely awful compensation.
Cons
I spent more than a year at Designzillas. I wanted to love it. On the surface, it looks like a great digital agency. With its flashy, in-your-face black and green branding and convenient downtown location, Designzillas may appear to have it all. It doesn't. This agency (if you want to call it that) has absolutely no direction from management. The clients that Designzillas does secure are vanilla at best, allowing little opportunity for the team to develop creatively. With no strategic direction, countless clients leave unhappy and employees leave. In a year's time, I'd venture to say at least 15 to 20 employees came and went. And, remember, this is a small agency. Also, if you're looking to grow your career and financial opportunities, I'd advise you look elsewhere. There are no savings plans (401ks or IRA) and the pay is so low many employees have to complete freelance work just to make ends meet. Lastly, the CEO is one of the most self-centered individuals I have ever worked with. His mood changes with the wind, leading many to wonder if he is indeed bipolar. He continually talked down to members of the team and was prone to frequent, irrational outbursts. I felt like I worked for a child on most days. He is passionate about the business, but that's where it ends. By failing to bring in a management team that understands the industry, the entire company is at the mercy of man held back by his ego and inability to trust others. I know this review may sound bitter. I am not. I left Designzillas on my own volition and moved on to greener pastures. My goal is to save other individuals from undue self-doubt and extreme workplace dissatisfaction. Stay ferocious!
