Pros

They’ll give you money in exchange for work. But it’s not enough for the work they’ll yank out of you.

Cons

Where to start? * old, out of date system programming that constantly has issues * you’re rewarded for doing your job well…..by getting more work piled on to you from co-workers who don’t pull their weight and yet are never put on any sort of action plan cuz it just goes on for years * they’ll crow about how their an “in office company”, then make most offices “hotel style” so you have to reserve a desk instead of having your own cube that you can personalize to make being in that hellscape at least a little bit less annoying * there are sooo many layers of managers yet it takes forever to get an answer on anything * there is no work/life balance * ACE should’ve never bought the rotting carcass that is Chubb. * bonuses suck and hope you love the 0-2% raises they hand out while crowing about how their a billion dollar global corporation 🙄 Find someplace better. It’s all smoke and mirrors to get you in the door, trust me….it’s awful when the smoke clears out. If you’re in college and they try to recruit you, RUN AWAY! Enjoy still having a zest for life cuz I promise you, Chubb will kill that

Pros

Global reach, brand name/reputation, nice technology equipment and solid networking. Opportunity for internal mobility. Good 401k match.

Cons

Incredibly slow systems and stifling bureaucracy. Culture is overall relaxed but not very hospitable, which is likely both a symptom and cause of a high-turnover environment. Raises are well below inflation. Moral does not seem considerably high and the bureaucratic nature of work hinders development. All of these factors combined negatively impact motivation. Very little open discussion about marketplace trends and tedious processes make the role feel very administrative despite being more analytical at other firms who have improved their systems. The firm has done a great job of diversifying across product lines and geographies, but a very poor job of talent retention and upgrading systems, which are the long-term tailwinds that’ll put Chubb at the forefront of the industry.
