Pros
Catalyst is set to accomplish a digital and strategic transformation to rival current Fortune 100 companies, and will truly disrupt the non-profit, DEI and learning industries. It's incredibly exciting and energizing to be a part of the organization at this time. What's more, is that I have never worked with a group of smarter and more kind individuals. Everyone here truly cares about everything -- our mission, the organization and each other. I feel cared for as a person and supported as a professional, by people from across the organization. I was worried joining a non-profit would be boring, but it's more like a mission-driven startup.
Cons
There are a lot of meetings. There isn't a regular practice of looking at how people are working and what people are working on, then asking how can we optimize and prioritize for efficiency. As a result, some ways of working are inefficient. Also, because people here are incredibly kind and inclusive, it sometimes means they have trouble saying no or want to include so many people in a decision, it takes forever to complete a project.
