Pros
I love being part of the pioneer team here in one of its newest business units, where I get to have the opportunity to help the company grow. I like that it’s different from most high-tech Silicon Valley companies (i.e. we are self-funded) because it shows that the company’s initiatives are driven by its mission and passion to serve its customers and its people — something I always look for in a company that I work with. You also get to have close personal interactions with the CEO and other executives, which could be rare for many companies today. Also, there has been some recent organizational changes and new addition to its management team in the last few months, which I believe have brought in some really good changes to the organization and it shows that the company is at a period of big growth. I find this particularly evident in the fast-growing Marketing team, which is now under the guidance, leadership and direction of Caspio’s new VP of Marketing.
Cons
When I started, there have been some challenges with leadership, like teams not getting clear vision, goals or direction from the management team, for example. While things are looking up in certain areas of the business (ex. Marketing, Professional Services, Product departments), I think there is a big room for improvement in other management aspects (particularly in HR, Ops and Admin) for the company to grow faster, reach its full potential, and retain employees.
