For as long as I can remember, CMS has laid off longtime employees near or at retirement age. In all the years I've been working here, I've never had one performance review!! Except unprofessional yelling and screaming from the owner.
There is no loyalty whatsoever. Some employees that are 50 and older have gone without raises for over 15+ years, while younger employees have received raises annually. After a 10% pay cut several years ago, only a "select few" received their 10% in pay back. If you were 50 or older, you did not.
It does not matter how good an employee you are or what HR or your managers think. If the owner and his wife want you gone, you are gone. Employees live in a constant fear of when they will be on the chopping block. Beware, June is always layoff month! I'll probably be next for writing this.
