Pros

Highly skilled technical talent Fast-moving team willing to take risks and challenge the status quo Transparent financial information to all employees (we all knew the runway and our monthly spend) Active effort to hire diversely, despite the challenges in the aerospace industry Employee-positive equity compensation Most of the team is very friendly and fun to work with. While talented, most don't take themselves too seriously. Topher (the CEO) and rest of the supporting team is very good at fundraising Decent health benefits for an early-stage startup Decent compensation for aerospace

Cons

Grind-focused culture Abandoned positive culture and core values when the going got tough In practice, replaced the stated core values with "By Any Means" Inexperienced managers, especially for the HR / People Ops Inconsistent messaging on priorities and future work Painful development environment as a flight software / GNC engineer (auto-generated Simulink combined with a dated C++ flight software framework) Increasing focus on phasing out remote work and focusing on in-person work

Pros

Culture is top notch and the people were amazing. Smart and kind, which is rare!

Cons

Obviously it’s a startup and they’re trying to do something novel. It’s hard but rewarding work!

Pros

Albedo's truly embodies the idea that if everyone is working hard to create leverage for each other, incredible outcomes will occur. The culture surfaces and celebrates this publicly. Leaning in to new technologies, even if outside your area of expertise is encouraged. Management facilitates actual growth, and isn't afraid of AI. Little to no middle management. There are no silos, no secret clubs, just a bunch of really smart people doing really cool things.

Cons

It is important to understand that this is a startup environment and this comes with the associated periods of grind. Expectations are very high, but not unfairly so. While wins are celebrated, resting on them is not. If you work here and you like it, it will likely ruin your ability to ever work for a "normal" company again.
