We’re sorry that you did not have a great experience during your short time with us. We do appreciate you sharing a detailed feedback and we’d like to address these:
On Hubstaff - Our use of Hubstaff is primarily for time tracking and invoicing as well as to ensure accountability. We make this clear during the new employee onboarding although we do understand that screenshots can feel restrictive. Rest assured that we’re actively working on how to improve tracking efficiency and productivity, especially considering that we have different work paces and some roles don’t depend on keystrokes or clicks for productivity.
On Shared Calendar - We ask you to share calendars to streamline scheduling, improve coordination, and keep projects on track. By making availability, deadlines, and important events visible, they can avoid double-booking, reduce back-and-forth emails, and ensure everyone works around each other’s commitments. Ultimately, it’s about saving time, increasing efficiency, and ensuring alignment across the organization.
On Salary - The employee engagement team has shared with every new employee onboarding about the one paycheck delayed payout schedule to compute payroll accurately, especially since some employees are paid on an hourly basis. This is also stated in the contractor agreement, signed by employees prior to the onboarding process.
On Micromanagement - Our goal is to set up new hires for success and take ownership of their roles while still having the proper guidance by a tenured team member, and it’s unfortunate that you felt a “plug and play” expectation within the team and we will review our training protocol to improve.
On Turnover - In some cases, company-related files are required to be surrendered upon contract termination. There is no other reason for holding the final pay of any ex-employee.
As you have mentioned very specific feedback in your role as an HR Specialist, we would like to extend an invitation to contact our Employee Engagement team at engagement@abroadworks.com so we can discuss your experience in detail, so we can also take a more direct approach to improve our internal processes and policies. Again, we are very sorry about your experience as an AbroadWorker, and we wish you better working experiences in the future.
