Pros

People outside of marketing are good.

Cons

Working in the marketing department is like going back to the worst high school you can imagine; everyone is in cliques and everyone talks about each other behind their backs. The leadership is a boys club and complete joke. They run around hanging out with artists and athletes to feel cool while they delegate insane amounts of work with no clear direction. Money is so completely mismanaged that Apple would be appalled if they truly audited the department.

Pros

Came in as an intern when company was still a Monster Cable subsidiary setting the stage for being an independent LLC. At the time there was opportunity abound, and career mobility was as accelerated as can imagine. Amazing Pros include(d): - Full Coverage Healthcare - Fully Stocked Kitchen - Amazing Product Discounts - Fast Mobility - Strong Brand Recognition - Work with extremely smart, talented, and hardworking individuals - Discount on Apple gear

Cons

It's a matter of preference, but the culture has felt distasteful numerous times, almost like a college frat party to some degree. Cons: - Decision making sat with C-level management and the Marketing department and everyone else is forced to scramble on what sometimes feel like minute's notice. Now sits with Apple additionally with same broken process in place - Office politics are catalyzed by directors and VPs fighting for ownership and credit, and lower level employees catch the brunt of it - Lots of insecurity as Apple still does not know what they want to do with the business - Product Discounts haven taken a hit - 15% off our own product Things have really changed drastically post Apple acquisition. Low morale around most teams, as all but Marketing and Sales were impacted drastically. Many people feel slighted and feel their contribution went unrecognized and taken for granted.

Pros

Free coffee, some snacks (but a huge downgrade from the food provided in Santa Monica), higher ceilings, a nice parking garage, a central L.A. location. Baldwin Hills overlook is nearby.

Cons

The move from Santa Monica to Culver City promised better facilities, with more space, conference rooms, real engineering labs for equipment, and attractive surroundings that inspire. The reality is that the PD building was an after-thought that was barely finished and that had none of the expected improvements other than a few more desks. It's like the budget for facilities was all used on the flashy, colorful, and very pleasant main building that houses the executives, Marketing, Sales, and HR. If you are an engineer, expect to be treated like a second-class citizen, even though you generate revenue growth for the company by developing new products. In an industrial area in Culver City. No convenient choices for walking to lunch. Right next to a sewage treatment plant, by the smell of things. The smell from the sanitation dept must be drifting striaight into the parking lot, or it's the stench from the "river" going by.
