- The CEO lied to me during my interview. I was drawn to this position because it is remote. I asked questions about the benefits and workload during my interview. The CEO said that overtime was an issue in the past but they were able to have balance now and no one really worked overtime anymore. I quickly learned this was a blatant lie. She also lied about the company culture during my interview. My interviews were only with the CEO and her husband, the COO. I never had to chance to interview with actual employees. I My first day on the job I started at 8:30am and ended at 6pm with NO LUNCH break. I had a great career in academia. I even left for a lateral move on the salary but it ended up being a salary cut because their benefits are lacking. I now had to pay out of pocket for things like disability insurance and life insurance.
-My initial excitement to join this company disappeared during my first two weeks and it all came from the treatment from the CEO who I reported directly to. I started to question my decision. The people at AutoCruitment are highly skilled and work so hard. However there is constant bullying, harassment, racism, and micromanagement from the CEO.
- There were constant long days with no time for a lunch break. The CEO wants 24 hour access to staff. If she sent a chat message and it wasn't responded to in less than two minutes, she would start trying to hunt down the employee with multiple phone calls and additional text messages. This would even occur on days off at 10pm, 1am, and so forth. I would wake up to multiple disrespectful messages calling me lazy and incompetent and where she claimed she had to do my job for me. Keep in mind I was already working 11 hour days with no lunch. She would then go back on the Telegram chats and delete or edit her insulting and racist comments.
- If the CEO could not find a Project Manager perhaps because they were grabbing a bite or went to use the bathroom, she would harass me to find them.
-There is a lot of public shaming at AutoCruitment that comes directly from the CEO to the employees. New employees are expected to watch some videos on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and then they should be experts on everything the company does. For instance, I was asked to review marketing materials. I do not have a marketing background. When I asked if someone can walk me through what I should look for the first time, I was told this is my job and I should already know this. This was three weeks into the job. I reported directly to the CEO there was no one to train me because everyone has busy schedules.
- The teams where the CEO isn't as involved have less turnover.
- The CEO would routinely ask me to work on projects, then she would forget, then change her mind. I was somehow expected to read her mind and know that I was expected not to work on the previous project and work on something else.
-This place also has CONSTANT data breeches. There are no polices in place to prevent them. Protected Health Information (PHI) can easily end up in the wrong hands. Confidential information is shared on cell phones via Telegram including to employees who have not worked for the company in months. Her clients are leaders in the industry and should not be aligning themselves with a company with these practices. The company has no way to verify who is receiving confidential information on the chats.
-HR is complicit with the CEOs bullying, harassment and racism. Nothing is done about it and there really isn't someone to take to about the CEO's behavior. There are no HR policies at this company. No background checks, no reference checks. No employee manual. I was expected to create HR manuals from scratch. My background is not HR. When I asked if someone with an HR background can review what I created, the CEO said I should already know this and insinuated I was dumb.
-CEO said me having to pick my child up at 5:30pm means that she can't use me in an emergency. Keep in mind my days started at 6am and I was often in calls with her well after 6pm. She was very vindictive towards employees with babies and young children.
-The CEO literally wakes up, decides to fire someone and the next day, that person no longer worked at the company. This happens constantly and without any prior issues of performance.
-When a former employee posts an honest review about their experience, the CEO hunts them down, starts the harassment process and intimidates them into changing it. She threatens legal action. ALL of the 5 star reviews on here were posted by the CEO or were from staff given an incentive to post them.
- If an employee wants to improve the situation, advocate for the team, and try to reduce their workload, she gets upsets and terminates the employee.
- The CEO hired 3 African American/Black people ONLY after there were negative Glassdoor reviews about racism. She had no intention of keeping them and used a "hire to fire" model. She constantly complains about her Glassdoor reviews, spends a lot of effort with fake reviews but does nothing to improve how she treats the staff. When negative reviews are posted about her, she tries to find out who wrote it and tries to bully them into removing the review.
- People are terrified to ask questions because the CEO would respond insinuating they are dumb or say she is the CEO and does not have the time. There is no one there to train or provide guidance to new employees on the project management team and mistakes happen all the time including data breeches. When a new employee starts, there are no processes in place for their orientation. There is a mad scramble to get everything together and it comes back to the CEOs style of doing things.
-There is extreme micromanagement and distraction from the CEO and Telegram. It was difficulty to get things done because of the constant harassment from the CEO including late at night. Based on some of her comments, I tried to be empathetic and thought maybe she was stressed out about starting a family. She often told me she was jealous I had a baby. She would also complain about not getting sleep. I tried my best to be understanding and empathetic and thought maybe she was on medications that caused her to behave this way. However, her behavior is unacceptable and no employee should have to endure this.
-These reviews are not lying. If you are offered a position at AutoCruitment, RUN in the other direction. If you are ok with being available 24/7 to a racist, lying CEO then this is the job for you! This place left me with PTSD. I have never worked under these conditions.
