Pros

none. if i could give this place zero stars i would

Cons

I was told I was getting a public relations and communications position or a marketing level position. However, that was a lie. On my first day I was told I was actually going to be street selling, as I like to call it. You go to local Walmarts, gas stations and other retailers, stand outside (no matter the weather) and convince people to donate to the given organization. That is not Public Relations, Communications or Marketing - that is a sales job. They will try to convince you that the company is not a "sales company" but they are. Your pay is based off of the donations you collect and you are only paid from 11-5 EVEN THOUGH you work from 9-6. They will try to convince you that promotions are given easily, but those promotions only go to the people who can collect the most donations (the people who don't mind harassing other for 6 hours to give them money). Positions labels as PR, Marketing and Communications that are actually just commission sales jobs, are scams and this company is prying on fresh graduates. I am very disappointed and advise everyone to hold themselves to a higher standard.

We appreciate any feedback and are sorry to hear you didn't have a desirable experience with us. We are very transparent about the day to day during the interview process and the events we attend at our different retail partner locations so that people are fully informed before they ever have a first day. Our mission is to spread awareness about our client through face to face iterations and to educate the community on the non-profit we represent. The definition of marketing is: "the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising." We are sad to hear you felt you needed to "harass" people in order to create exposure regarding an anti-bullying campaign as that's the opposite of what our mission is here at ABC Gateway. Again, thank you for reaching out and please let us know if there's anything else we could help with or clarify for you.

Pros

the only pro is that you get paid every week and the people that work there are cool

Cons

where do i begin? it is an awful company. its terribly corrupt for one- we told people we gave 100% of their donations to the kids.. lol what a LIE. we also recently told people that if they donate (insert amount here, it changes based on whatever we are trying to get them to donate) we matched their donation with a backpack FULL of school supplies.... lol there were about four things in that "backpack" and it wasnt even a backpack. it was a cheap duffel bag. We are constantly lying to people to get them to donate. ALSO somehow the company can send people on all expense paid trips to Cabo but cant get backpacks for kids that we tell people we are doing?? so sketchy. The typical day is literally going into the office for a couple hours (while we do 'pep talks' and meetings aka brainwashing u to use marketing strategies to get donations) and then u stand outside from 11 o clock to 5 or maybe even 6 ... no matter the weather.... you go to all different kind of stores. targets, walmarts, starbucks, even sketchy gas stations. you set up a table and beg for donations. then you get back to the office at about 5:30 or 6, count the money, and "reflect" on your day lol... the leaders are there until night time. I was told that everyone had "expiration dates" so if you dont progress in the company as fast as they want you to (aka memorizing and regurgitating random sales tactics every day until you get promoted), they will just fire you. if you think about the amount of time spent there (around 8 am to 6 or even 7 pm.. maybe even 8..) your paycheck is most likely less than minimum wage if you go by hourly. and then they expect you to go home and study their packet and come back in the morning to repeat a new page everyday. NO worklife balance. your paycheck depends on the amount of donations you get. you only get 30% of whatever donations you collect. and the manager decides where everyone goes. you could see 100 people... or five people. just depends on the location. if you google the non profit "stand for the silent" there arent many statistics on where exactly the money goes. do not work here unless you dont mind being overworked, lying to people and telling them whatever they need to hear to donate more, and literally being put outside for hours no matter the weather only to get commission from peoples DONATIONS that are supposed to go towards "anti bullying and suicide prevention" but really go to ??? nobody knows??? it was hell. do not work here.

Pros

-Good management and people -Growth opportunities

Cons

If you think this job is a typical 9-5 sitting at a desk creating marketing and advertising campaigns...it's not. When you apply it says "marketing associate" but what that really means is that you will be standing outside in the cold begging for donations for a nonprofit organization. You will be working 6 days/week probably 9-7pm with NO BASE PAY. This job is solely commission based and you get only 30% of what you make in production. I hate to leave a review like this because the people are great but I wish I knew what I was getting into before I started. There would be times I would be standing outside a Walgreens in 30 degree weather wishing I worked at Walgreens. Hell, working at McDonalds is better because at least you're inside and warm. If like standing outside in the cold and begging for donations for 7 hours this is the job for you!! If not, well, consider yourself lucky for reading this review. You will thank me later.

We do our best to be extremely transparent throughout the hiring process. During orientation, we show photos of the events we host to fully preempt people on our campaigns and discuss the different payment options before officially onboarding anyone. Transparency is extremely important to us, so we apologize if there was any communication issues. Thank you for the feedback.
