CyberOptics keeps a close eye on the printed circuit board market. The company makes noncontact sensors and integrated systems that use proprietary laser and optics technology to measure the characteristics and placement of electronic components during and after the assembly of printed circuit boards. Product lines include LaserAlign sensors, which ensure accurate component placement, and WaferSense, which monitors such factors in semiconductor fabrication as leveling, gapping, and vibration. CyberOptics also makes the SE 300 Ultra quality control system, which measures solder paste deposition. The SE 300 and related products generate about 30% of sales. Customers in Asia account for the majority of sales.
