    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Taylor Wimpey (Hook, England (UK)) in May 2017.

    Interview

The first stage of the process was to upload a CV and Cover Letter.

I then had to complete a video interview, I was sent two questions to answer.

Next was a telephone interview which consisted of mainly competency based questions.

If you are successful at this stage you are required to complete a series of online tests.

I was invited to an assessment day, this was a fun and challenging day. It gives you a great insight into the company and the way they work. There was an individual task where you were required to read a case study and deliver your recommendations to senior individuals within the business. There is also a group task, this is to assess your teamwork skills and how you interact with others. I would say be yourself and relax, everyone there is genuinely wishing you to do well! Of course, make sure you have done your research on Taylor Wimpey as a business, there is a great deal of information on their website and careers page.

The final stage is a face to face interview with two senior individuals within the business. I was required to complete a presentation at the interview. About a week before the interview you are given a choice of topics to present on. I was interviewed by two Directors who were both very nice, relaxed and genuinely wanted to get to know me. They were not trying to catch me out or make me feel uncomfortable in any way.

It seems like the business as a whole has a great culture and I am very much looking forward to starting in September.

I was impressed with the recruitment process, the staff were informative and available and willing to answer any queries I had.
